Certification ...      

        In order for Bulgarian agricultural production to be accepted in the European market as organic, it is necessary to be certified by an organization licensed by International Federation for Organic Agriculture Movement "IFOAM" or CA of EU. The certification body we have chosen is one of the oldest ones working in the area of organic agriculture development, "Soil Association Certification Ltd". Its certificate is well known in the European Union countries, the USA, as well as in Canada and other countries throughout the world.
        We held a meeting with Mr. Robert Hardy, Soil Association International Development Director, at 2003 to introduce the opportunities for organic certification and what is needed for this to occur. We learned that in order to obtain full certification enabling us to sell our products on the world market, it is necessary to be obtain 4 separate certificates:
         - Certificate for group of harvesters of wild fruits including certification of forest areas around Velimgrad;
         - Certificate for group of cultivation of herbs including certification of the cultivated areas;
         - Certificate for processing of herbs
         - Certificate for processing of wild berries
         Three of certificates were obtained in next year and the fourth one was obtained in 2005. Thanks to this certification our products can be selling in EU and a lot of countries around the world.
